anything edible with a little acid in it:

any vinegar, but especially
apple cider vinegar
any citrus juice
vitamin C
Pineapple as mentioned above


i wonder if cream of tartar would work?

granny smith apples are fairly tart so you don't
really need the acid for taste.

Sometimes I use pineapple juice in place of lemon juice. We usually have a can of concentrate in the freezer. Orange Juice might work, too.

It depends how much is called for in the recipe. Is it just so the apples don't turn brown as they're peeled? Then either juice should work.

Pineapple juice, unsweetened. It is just to keep the apples from turning brown.

About one half teaspoon apple cider vinegar. It is also to add tartness or brightness to the pie.
