Do you have any obsessive-compulsive tendencies?

Some of mine are...
-When in lecture if the professor doesn't erase every little bit of marker off the white board after writing it really makes me uncomfortable and pissed at the teacher for leaving marks.
-I have to double check, triple check, and so on that my alarm clock is set right before falling asleep. Sometimes I'll check a dozen times.
-I prefer the TV volume to be set only at even numbers.

:-) what about you?

I used to have a weird obsession with my lips. I'd have to look at them in the mirror like every 5 minutes to make sure there was nothing wrong or different with them. If I couldn't check, I'd stress out majorly.

I couldn't go anywhere that didn't have a mirror and then after a while I started to carry one around with me. I couldn't touch my lips with my hands or anything else or I'd have to go wash them (my lips!) with soap and hot water. That lasted for almost 5 months. I've pretty much gotten over it but it really sucked while it lasted. My therapist was very intrigued by it.

I check the locks on the doors several times at night,

I prefer to procrastinate till the last minute when I have to do something like pay bills, do income tax, or balance my checking account,

I check my alarms (I've got 2) so many times, that I'm tired from running around to make sure my alarm is set,

The night before I go to work, I work from 6:30 am to 7 pm, I set out my clothes, clean my shoes, set out my makeup, get as much of my routine for the morning done at night, because I have to be prepared.

I used to be really OC when I was really stressed and younger. I have learnt to be more positive and overcome these silly little routines.
I used to check light switches, jump out of the bathroom on two feet, count steps, cracks in the floor,

yeah I usually just check things at least twice but after 3 times I just tell myself that its jsut ridiculous and just get over it.
Sometimes telling someone else who is willing to listen to your personal concerns is a good way of getting thigns off your chest. eg a counsellor or a friend. With the tv numbers on eve... why even numbers and not odd??, you need tof ace your fears, pick yourself up and just focus on more positive things that matter. THe white board event, I think that maybe you might be a clean freak????, if so you just have to accept that maybe you cant get everything spotless and things will always be dirty.

Hope this helps
