why cant anyone that doesnt want to go to college just do that?
i meen come one it saves the trouble.

You can. Contact a local community college, most of them offer GED classed for people who drop out of high school. You have to have enough education to pass a GED test in order to get it.

You might also consider an alternative school environment. Your public library can also access you to books to study for GED.

You don't just "get" a GED. It stands for General Education Diploma. Which means that when you have one you have the education equivalent of a high school graduate.

Because if you want to do something besides work at McDonald's, a high school diploma is a good idea.
