Science. Religion has been the cause of many wars, and although some experimental science has taken lives, war has taken many more. Also, science has given us advances in medicine.

Neither, mankind is too full of themselves to benefit from either. Science has us a couple of buttons away from total nuclear destruction, and religion as been the cause of more bloodshed that just about anything else. We have grass growing in Arctic polar regions and neo-cons refusing to admit we have a global warming problem. The pope was a member of the Hitler youth during WWII and George W. Bush is fighting another crusade. Not to mention the whorehouse awaiting the perpetrators of heinous crimes in the name of Allah.

I think God isn't too happy with religion, let alone mankind. Since God made everything, and St. Augustine said everything God made is good, if I was forced to choose, I'd have to vote for Science being better for mankind than religion. I'm pretty sure most organized religions have little or nothing to do with God anyway.

Well to be honest both goes hand in hand!

Current era isn't the right situation but we can take the Greek era, they invented so many things while they were religious, same with Muslims, they invented algebra, astrology etc. while being too religious!

Actually Science is a part of Religion, unfortunately these days we got extremists who never quotes about Science!

Hello.. :)

I do not seperate the two..they go hand in hand.. :)

Sir Francis Bacon (1561-1626), the father of the scientific method described the harmony between the Bible and creation and the need to study both to discover truth by saying: “To conclude therefore, let no man upon a weak conceit of sobriety or an ill-applied moderation think or maintain, that a man can search too far, or be too well studied in the book of God's word, or in the book of God's works; divinity or philosophy: but rather let men endeavour an endless progress or proficience in both; only let men beware that they apply both to charity, and not to swelling; to use, and not to ostentation; and again, that they do not unwisely mingle or confound these learnings together.” (Sir Francis Bacon, 1605, The Advancement of Learning).

The Bible is scientifically compatible. Its revelation of details about creation are consistent with scientific discoveries. In fact, the Bible is responsible for inspiring the mapping of the ocean currents.

Naval Captain Matthew Maury was inspired to map the ocean currents after reading the Bible’s description of "paths in the seas" in Psalm 8:8, which says, “The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.” In memory of Maury’s achievements, the State of Virginia erected a monument, which states: "Matthew Fontaine Maury, Pathfinder of the Seas, the Genius Who First Snatched from the Ocean and Atmosphere the Secret of Their Laws.

It was during this voyage in the 'Falmouth' to Rio de Janeiro, on his way to the Pacific, that he conceived the idea of the celebrated Wind and Current Charts, which have since accomplished so much for the commerce of the world.

Some things in the Bible were not discovered for thousands of years after the revelation such as the round earth (Job 26:10, Prov 8:27, Isaiah 40:22, Amos 9:6) and the water cycle (Eccl 1:6-7; 11:3; Job 26:8; Amos 9:6).

God’s Word reveals truth and God’s work in creation reveals truth. Both revelations are expressions of one mind and one truth. The two do not contradict. A correct understanding of both is indicated by their harmony.

Science has benefited mankind as a whole far more. This is because science/medicine is for everyone, while religion is not--it is on an individual basis.

Science - without a doubt. Science has done more to alleviate the miserey of humans in the last 300 years than religion did in the last 30,000 years. No god, nor priest, ever told us how to make anasthetics, for example, or antibiotics.

I believe Vishal, for sure, and that i upload that the area is interior the imprecision of the be conscious "reason." right here, because "faith" and "technological information" at the instantaneous are not themselves actors or human beings, yet a social gadget of recommendations (faith) and a way for investigating the international and coming up straightforward motives (technological information), we are able to not say that "faith" or "technological information" on my own are the "reason" of something. interior the context of markyy's question, "reason" may ought to propose more effective than in basic terms correlation in time, with result Y happening after action X. If we rewrite the question as "in this heritage of mankind, which has been the reason behind extra killings, faith or technological information?", then it really is a lot extra obtrusive that there is not any good answer, because there is in basic terms about continuously a concatenation of "causes" (reported and unspoken causes, etc.) in the back of even in basic terms one killing, now to not indicate dozens or 1000's or thousands.
