The death penalty isn't about sending someone to hell quicker. The death penalty exists so that criminals will not have the chance to commit a crime ever again. That's kind of why a life sentence is a joke. Either way, no more crimes. Death penalty-no more paying for them. Life sentence-we pay them to sit in jail.

I hope I answered the question in the manner you meant it. It's really frustrating to answer a question and then realize you didn't understand it. Ha!

I already oppose the death penalty. But for the sake of your argument, let's assume I was in favor of it. Just because someone is convicted of a crime does not mean they are going to hell. How do I know they didn't repent and accept the Lord? Also, heaven or hell is God's determination. While we know generally what the bible says about causes for going to hell, it's presumptious (and wrong) of me to assume that's the fate of any particular individual.

Logical steps and conclusion:
If everyone went to heaven, then the Bible and its requirements are a lie.
If the Bible is a lie, then God is not God.
If God is not God, then there is no heaven, since God doesn't exist to allow people into heaven.
With no God, there is no absolute truth and no moral clarity. Mankind then can do whatever he wants, regardless of right or wrong.
Thus, no death penalty would be imposed, since mankind would probably kill itself off, since it creates weapons of mass destruction, waiting for someone with the courage to annihilate the human race.

Nope. There are some people who truly deserve to die, like this creep up in Pittsburgh who killed his 2-yr daughter cause she wouldn't go to bed. He left her outside to freeze to death. Hell isn't hot enough for people like that. And if God were to announce there was no Hell, then that would make Him a liar and God isn't the father of lies, Satan is.

Good, you make up stupid questions to oppose the writings which have stood for thousands of years. In 100 years, nobody will remember you, but Jesus will live on.

By the way, I already oppose it.

Who are you to tell God what to announce?

That is never going to happen. What is written in His Book is going to Stand Forever. So it makes your question moot!

No, because it would still mean the end of their life here on earth as punishment for their crimes here on earth.
