There are a few lottories outside the UK I'd like to participate in. Thinking it wasn't possible unless you were in the country, I found "www.thelotter.com". It looks genuine, but something tells me it's a scam, because, I don't see any logical way you'd be able to clain the prices, when most say you have to reside within the country. Even if it worked, it certainly wouldn't be legal, and there would be a middle man claiming the price for you; if you were to win.
Can anyone shed any light on it?

There may be legit services online (I haven't heard of this one), but it's such an easy scam that it attracts tons of scammers. It costs almost nothing to run, and people seem to be intrigued when they get e-mails from lottery services that they never entered (source: Yahoo Answers front page).
Think about this one: if you lose, they have your money. If you hit big, they have your ticket and you can't cash it in (even if you have a copy, good luck trying to convince the courts that you have the right to it after the original owners cash it).
Like I said, it's possible that they're legit, and I hate to condemn a product I haven't used, but you can see how easy it would be to scam you here. If you've got a big urge to play the lottery, go to the gas station and pick up a ticket or two. At least you'll be able to cash it in if you happen to win.
