I don't have high blood pressure.High cholesterol I don't know. Diabetes? possibly but my sugar level is not that high yet. I'm worried it could be my heart since i have been getting quick sharp pains(I thought it was just trapped gas) I am overweight, don't exercise, don't eat right, have had pregnancy diabetes, have taken several diet pills over the years, was bullimic for a lil while, have bronchitis alot, and also a very bad thing, took a bunch of tylenol pills when I was younger, retarded i know but I have learned from my mistakes and want to better myself.I am only 25, but want to lead a better longer life now that i have a son to care for. I have no insurance, anyone know how much a test would cost cash?If it is after hours will the ER give me one? I'm tired of feeling scared everytime I feel dizzy, thank you for reading and responding.

I have had dizzy spells on and off for about a year. When I lay down and roll over, it feels like the room is spinning. You should have your nose and ears checked. Look up Vertigo on the Internet. Good luck its good that you are taking care of yourself now and in the future:)

Unless you're having the problem when you go in, they'd probably refer you to the health department or somewhere else for a work-up. Or they might run some lab tests and then refer you.

Reasons for dizziness include viral infections, ear problems, cardiac problems, or brain problems, plus things like blood pressure, anemia or blood sugar abnormalities.

It sounds like you're tired of not feeling healthy, and you're right to take matters into your own hands, for your son's sake and for your own.

The ER should be able to tell you where to go, but if they don't, go to the county health department for a physical. They can help you find out where to start making yourself feel better (eating better and exercise will help a lot). If some of your problems are emotional, they can help you with that too.

As far as how much the lab tests cost, it depends which ones they order. They would probably want to do at least 8 lab tests and a blood count, but hospitals set aside charity money for people who can't pay. The ER is a very expensive way to get care, though, if the problem is not happening right now.

They will be suspicious of your heart. I think they may look for an improper rhythm. You should call someplace like a Church who may have a referral list of clinics that can help.

I would begin with trying to get a referral and also by doing more light exercise and eating more vegetables while replacing fats in your diet.
