I would have to say the answer to that is both no and yes. Rich people often give money to charities and other people or try to develop products that help people. Some of them merely do this for the purpose of the profits they can gain by these new products or because of the tax breaks they get for donating their money. Even though some of them may purely do it for financial reasons, I'm sure that there are those who do things for humanitarian reasons.

Money does NOT change people for good or for bad. Money just gives them the opportunity to act like who they really are.

You will never get rich looking out for others.To become rich you cannot care what happens to others on your way.people forget its not just them getting rich someone somewhere has helped them and far to many times they forget that.There are a few however who share their wealth with those who help them.

Not all of the rich people are selfish, there are others who are philanthropists who have helped some poverty stricken sectors of the society.
