Just reading the lyrics it should be quite obvious that it is about spiritual answers, looking for them, waiting for them to come , letting it .
McCartney talking of Mother Mary, which he says was his own late mother , but could also be the Blessed Virgin, giving him words of wisdom and letting them be or coming to fruition.
He talks of the despair of the lonely people in the world who agree there must be an answer and that we should let it be , let it work itself out, don't push it.
I've always found Let it Be a very personally optimistic song, basically talking about faith being the answer and to let it be and you'll get your answers from God or the Universal Source.

The Beatles (Lennon/McCartney)
When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.
And when the broken hearted people
Living in the world agree,
There will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is
Still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be. Yeah
There will be an answer, let it be.
And when the night is cloudy,
There is still a light that shines on me,
Shine on until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be,
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
I would say it would mean for just except people for who they are so just let it be
Don't interfere with other peoples lives everyone has a choice in life and they choose how to live it, not you lol
Meditate and connect to you intuition or guide and just live life the best way you can : )
And I love this song so much
Love & Blessings
Milly

A lot of times we become stressed out or overly obsessed over something for nothing. The song "Let it be" sent me the message to look at the worst thing that can happen and work with it the best that you possibly can. It's still my philosophy almost forty years later.

the song is telling us that there's hope and whatever turbulance you may be in , there's always an answer. What has been done is done and what is important is you have someone to guide you back on the right path.

It doesn't. I always understood it to be a song about a mother comforting her child which just happens to use the name of Paul McCartney's mother.

Can we move away from the Lennon lyrics? Toss out a Kinks question. The Beatles are so over played.

Live and let live is a philosophical lesson, not a religious one. Many religions simply cannot fathoms letting others live their own way.

It was adapted from "Let him pee", and German 1960's Gasthause hit.
