The popping sensation is the result of eustachian tubes which equalize pressure between your middle ear and the outside clearing and blocking. When they block the pressure builds, and when they clear, it equalizes and you feel a pop. It's a normal and expected reaction, especially when you have a cold and sore throat. Treat the cold and stuffy nose with any of the over the counter cold remedies that help with congestion/stuffy nose. The sore throat should be helped by that as well, and you can also help that with drinking lots of cold liquids and sucking on either hard candy or cough drops. Keeping the throat moist helps it recover and makes things more comfortable. It probably wouldn't hurt to have a vaporizor or humidifier going nearby either, to add moisture to your surroundings. Moist cool air is easier to breath that the usual hot dry air we keep going in the winter. Nothing you can do will move a cold along any faster than the old fashioned rest, liquids and time. Don't sweat the ear popping, and in fact you really want to encourage it to keep those eustachian tubes open- it will help prevent a middle ear infection where fluid builds up in the middle ear. That would need medicine to get rid of. Whenever you can, hold your nose, close your mouth and gently blow. You should feel the pop. Moving your jaw forward slightly should reset the ear drum, although if there is fluid it may happen slowly. That's fine and as it should be. When your nose isn't stuffed as much, the popping will go away. Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

Throat tablets such as Tyrozets kill bugs at source, and help shorten a cold. DON'T blow your nose hard as it forces infections into your ears. Also do not pop your ears on purpose. Steam inhalations help.
By the way ignore advice that is more than a paragraph long. These people know nothing ,but seek to justify by waffling.

I've used Zicam throat spray w/great success for all those symptoms. It tastes lousy, but it works really fast. (don't get the nasal kind :( As far as the ears, you may just need a decongestant but first check out WebMD boards because they are written by doctors w/detailed FAQs in every medical area.

I use a water pick that most people use for their teeth. I fill it with half peroxide and half warm (almost hot) water. I use the lowest setting and it does a great job.
