I have extrememly curly hair but I imagine we have the same problem which is dryness? When you put hair conditioner on, take only 90% of it off, don't rub your hair with the towel, blot it. I use Botanic Oil by Nexxus (I think they're discontinuing it)- without it my hair looks soooo dry and poofy and this actually makes it look normal & shiny! But you still need like a leave-in conditioner first. You might consider getting it chemically straightened. If they tell you that's going to damage it (not necessarily true) your hair looks dry anyway! I like to straighten it at Regis salons. If you can afford it have the top hairdresser do it. I keep it short, that way I can style it myself.
HEY, there's a website solely for people with curly hair, I don't know if it's curlyhair.com or curly.com or what.

I have straight hair that poofs up all the time. Sun silk has one for poofy hair. That works for me.

Well I have extremley thick hair (but it's also long)Like Joan from Girlfriends. To keep my hair nice I try to keep it done.If I can't make it to the salon I'll flat iron it.I also use this great hair product called Cantu (it works wonders for me).

pony tails are the best and easiest for me if your looking for something that takes a little longer. damp your hair put mouse in it turn head over scrunch it put hairspray and maybe a laquer or mouse but that will help. i hate it my hair too lol. i know how it is. oh straigning takes for ever but it looks gorgeous when done

what qualifies as poofy? does it have to be curly? I think short hair works best.
