I want to leave America and head for life else where, but before I do this, I want to work abroad and shop for a country that suits me before settling in. My main concern is making a living. I am currently qualified in the state of OH as a nurse's aid and a truck driver. I was wondering if my current US endorsements would be accepted in the country I want to work in, be transferable or would I have to go through the course all over again to get it and is it a big pain to get the work visas and how do I get them?

I now live in Europe (because of my husband--see a Mexican can get into America easily but a good man like my hubby can't without us being spearated for a long time). Europe is nice, it's cultured, it's full of intellectual nice people, it's got some amazing architechture---but it's also full of wussies.

These people just accept everything. They are liberal and gutless and hopelessly PC. Europe is set to become openly facist well before America does. You aren't allowed by law to actually say you don't like a certain group of people--you can get thrown in jail. You can't smack your kid and as a result these people have the most asinine children you've ever seen, spoiled little b*stards. You aren't allowed to defend yourself in your own home--thats right--if a man breaks into your home and tries to rape you and you stab him you can go to jail. You can't carry any type of weapon at all, pepper spray and stun guns are illegal. There are cameras all over the streets, big brother is watching indeed!
The wages suck and the nepotism is rife. Not only that they hate our guts for the actions of our government. As if they have any more control over their awful government than we do! I reckon that you should move to Mexico and expect all of them to speak english.

I'm a CNA as well, those qualifications count for sh*t over here. They are comparable to Care assistants and unlike a CNA they are not professionals. Anyone can walk in off the street and take care of elderly people. The state of their socialized medicine means that everything is dirty, these people (even fully qualified nurses) don't seem to know anything about universal precautions, you wouldnt like to do that job over here. You can't get into Europe unless you marry or have a degree--thats it.

As far as denouncing your US citizenship--I felt like that at one time too--but being here for 4 years now I'd love to come home--the grass is NOT greener!

Now first of all if you have an idea what country you would really like to settle in for good you should contact their consulate or embassy first, if you have to get visa, then you will have to get that, then on your arrival after been in the country you could inquire about work permit, after and if that is granted you could further make your decisions, but to use certificate that you have here as a nurse, to work in the country of your choice you would have to inquire about that too. but a truck drive I think all you would need is just their license and training that part would not be too hard a driver is a driver anywhere only that you will have to get accustomed to which side of the road they drive on. not every country drives on the right some drives on the left . Smile.

To work in another country you would need a visa. Maybe if you could speak the local language, it would help. To renounce your US citizenship might be a good idea for you simply because you have entertained the thought. Must be the truck driver part of you. If you succeeded in your visa, you would then have to e in that country for whatever required time it would take to get your citizenship. Wouldn't it be nice for you to have another citizenshi[ first. When you have it all, stay wherever you are and don't come back.

You mean you want to "renounce" your American citizenship not "denounce". But why? You can still live and work in another country without doing that.

Like America is really several countries ( Canada , US and Mexico)
You do not emigrate to Europe, you must choose a country . . . go check your maps and pick one ,
Then come back here and make your question relevant to where you are seeking to go.
