I have an Olympus Camedia D-560 Recorder, and I cannot get it to download the pictures to my computer. Help?

I have plugged in the Olympus into the USB port and close the cover, then pressed the appropriate button, but the files do not download. Help.

The PC does not seem to recognize the camera. Or when I plug it in, there is an icon that I can then click on; however, I then get a message that there is an I/O error.

Did your PC recognize the camera?
Your PC should recognize the camera as a "hard drive", and assign a letter to it.
Then you can use Windows explorer, go to the camera drive and copy your pictures or videos to your computer.
The camera needs to be "on"
