Carnival is the best party, party, party boat for young people in their 20's and 30's. The other thing that you have to consider in selecting a cruise is destination. Cruises to the Caribbean usually have the younger crowds while those going to the Mediterranian, Baltic, Panama, etc., generally have an older crowd. Just stay away from the Holland America ships as they are the ones with the really old folks.
BUT, I do recommend the new Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas. It is a fantastic ship with many amenities like the rock climbing wall, a full sized basketball court, an ice skating rink, a disco, a shopping mall and on the back of the ship the Flow-Rider. The Flow-Rider is a place where you can water surf on a boogie board and RC is the ONLY cruise line that has this, the new RC ship Liberty of the Seas will also have one. Check this web site: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruis...
RC also does a great cruise and has THE best private island on its western Caribbean itinerary when it stops at Labadee. That island has multiple beaches and is so large that they provide a free tram to carry you around it. It has Jet ski, parasailing, snorkeling and all kinds of activities available.
Frankly you can probably go on Carnival for less but you will have a better time and enjoy the accommodations, food and staff better on RC. That's my experienced recommendation.

I have only been on Carnival and for good reason. The prices are great, rooms and staff are great and the food is FANTASTIC! Most of their ships have a 24 hour pizzeria! That was a huge selling point for me. There's nothing like a slice of pizza at 3:00am to help you get to sleep at night ; )

Royal Caribbean is far better than any of the other cruise lines...i have been on 3 RCl cruises in the past 4 years (Mariner, Voyager, and Explorer of the Seas)...every one of them was amazing and there is nothing better...endless activities, delicious food, great ports of call, nice sized rooms, excellent service...what more can i say!?!?!

Celebrity has the best ships
I was on the Zenith and I also heard the Horizon was good. My husband and I went to Bermuda and there were a lot of young couples especially newlyweds on board.
