If you're trying to make a point, I'm afraid it isn't working. Perhaps there is no real difference other than Atheists don't believe in any gods and Satanists worship Satan, and I suppose by excluding that as a reason, that's what you want people to say. But the fact that that's the only difference doesn't prove anything since the difference is such a large one.
If this was a legitimate question and there wasn't any point being made, I apologize for sounding stand-offish.

Satanism is a religion, a worship or respecting belief in Satan. Atheism is a philosophy. They don't believe in any sort of higher power. They are generally very logical people with very personal opinions on how they do things. It's about making choices instead of relying on a higher power to rule everything. Atheism means different things to different atheists.

Atheists tends to be far more moral, and ethically conscious than Satanists (and, ironically, most christians).
Depends on the Satanists though, many satanists (like Laveyan Satanists) don't actually believe Satan exists, they just use it as a sort of shock value and mockery of christiandom. However they tend to be more coarse (the first of their 9 major sins is stupidity for instance) and intolerant (atheists are actually statistically very tolerant). They also openly defy christianity at every turn while Atheists try to use reason and logic.
There really are a lot more differences, it's like trying to compare Christianity and Islam.

A Satanist believes in Satan, just as a Christian believes in Christ. An atheist does not believe in a god or higher power, good or evil.

Atheism means you do not believe in any supernatural wonders. Like God, Angels, etc. Satanism is the very crude worship of satan. These people have "black masses" in private and sometimes kill people at these masses.

Satanism believes Satan is the man and the true god. Whereas Atheism believes in no god.

The way I see it, Atheism is the absence of any religious beliefs at all. Satanism has a religious belief, and it involves the worship of Satan.
