If one really takes a look at the issue, and the changes made, it can be seen that 1 hour, twice a year is a bit much. I say that we should advance the clocks by a half hour, lock them down and forget it.
The change you seek would have to be made on a governmental level. The coming changes were made a long time ago, and are just now taking affect.

If farmers want to get up earlier on days with more daylight hours, let them. We have the technology - they can set their alarms to any time they want. There's no need for the rest of us to shift our schedules twice a day.
what absolute tosh.....not the question, but some of the uselessly LAME answers.
we need it for our kids?....since when ?
more visible for drivers....RUBBISH....it's bloody dark when i go to work & dark when i get home....it's called winter!
i totally agree with you mate....Alarm Clocks are truly amazing things.....you set them to go off in the morning and guess what.....they go off and you wake up.
you want to hear something even funnier.....Scotland were proposing to change their clocks by 2 hours......MAD
if you want to do away with Daylight Saving Time...only way would be to move to the Antarctic for winter....or alter the polarity of the earth in order to move certain continents positioning in relation to the sun......

Daylight saving time is good for all and not only the farmers because a lot of energy costs from businesses and homes are saved by adjusting the time.

No!! I need it!! This question made me laugh(thanks I needed it). You see, even though I am 56 years old and married...my 91 year old dad still makes me be at home when it is dark unless my husband is home! We built a little house in our backyard for my elderly parents. One time I needed to run to the store(it was dark out)...my dad said he was not going to bed till I got back home! He goes to bed at 7:30!
And, I have to do yard work in the evening in the summer because the humidity is too high in the mornings.
So, no....I really do need daylight saving time.

Beleive it or not, any state can opt out of daylight savings time, and there are some rural states that do for the exact reason you just mentioned.

They only change the time so the rich men can play golf longer after they get off work. It has nothing to do with concern for the people. If they tell you it's for OUR OWN GOOD, look out! They are getting ready to fork you.

We need it for kids too. Those who go to school early in the morning wait in the dar for their bus. During daylight savings time everything is more visible for drivers, etc.

Why not have daylight savings time all year round, that might be more feasible.
