Catholics memorize the Baltimore Catechism too. It is just a matter of how much time is used to memorize and the more you memorize the less you know about math, science, history, language, and other areas of human knowledge. Get a nun to grill you and beat you when you make mistakes.

You can memorize anything if you repeat it to yourself day after day after day - some call it "brainwashing" The Bible says "write the Scriptures upon your heart" which is more than memorizing, but allowing the Scriptures to become a part of who you are.

and everyone remembers words to a song
