I have recently been to see a neurologist for recurring headaches and she had done some routine tests. One of them was testing my reflexes. The ones in my arms and hands are fine but when she went to check the ones in my legs there were none, she checked and re-checked to be sure and rechecked again with a bigger 'hammer' to be even more sure, still none. What could this mean? Any ideas? She had me go for an MRI of the brain today, but I'm sure that has nothing to do with the reflexes but has to do with the headaches. It's got me curious and I don't go back to see her until the end of the month. If it was something serious I'm sure she would have told me then.

Your doctor was checking your patellar reflex...tendon reflexes provide information on the integrity of your central and peripheral nervous system.
Generally, decreased reflexes indicate a peripheral problem.
You could have a herniated disc, inflammed disc or even nerve root compression

I think you should feel comfortable with calling you doctor and voicing your concerns, that way they can put your mind to ease until all of your tests are finished.
Good Luck and hope this helps some :)

Usually having no reflexes means there is something wrong neurologically
