Super Submarine Sandwich

INGREDIENTS

1 (16 ounce) loaf French bread or Italian bread, divided horizontally
6 ounces pastrami
6 ounces smoked turkey
6 ounces smoked ham
4 ounces colby, sliced
4 ounces swiss cheese, sliced
1 medium tomato, sliced
1 red onion, sliced
6 slices pickles
1 leaf lettuce

DIRECTIONS

Spread both pieces of bread with your favorite condiments (butter, mayonnaise, mustard, etc.).
On the bottom piece, layer ingredients in the following order: lettuce, tomato, colby cheese, swiss cheese, onion, pastrami, turkey, ham, pickle.
Top with remaining bread and cut in four to six sections.

Submarine Sandwich

1/4 cup Italian vinaigrette
1 long crusty loaf (about 16 inches) French or Italian bread
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 small ripe tomatoes, thinly sliced
4 ounces prosciutto, thinly sliced
6 ounces Italian salami, thinly sliced
3 ounces cheddar cheese, thinly sliced
6 ounces boiled ham, thinly sliced
4 ounces provolone cheese, thinly sliced
12 slices dill pickles
1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
12 small sweet pickled peppers, sliced

Slice loaf of bread in half lengthwise and spread both cut sides with mayonnaise. Layer bottom half of loaf with tomato slices, prosciutto, salami, Cheddar, ham, provolone, and pickles. Top with lettuce and pickled peppers. Spoon vinaigrette over the filling and cover with top half. Press down firmly.
Serves 3 to 4.

Makes 6 servings



1 loaf (1 pound) French bread
1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
4 ounces Swiss cheese, sliced
1/2 pound salami, sliced
2 cups shredded lettuce
2 medium tomatoes, thinly sliced
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1/2 pound fully cooked ham, thinly sliced
1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
1/4 cup creamy Italian dressing
6 long wooden picks or small skewers


Cut bread horizontally in half. Spread butter over bottom half.

Layer cheese, salami, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, ham and bell pepper
on bread.

Drizzle with dressing. Top with remaining bread half. Secure loaf
with picks. Cut into 6 serving pieces.


FIESTA SUBMARINE SANDWICHES
8 ounces chunk crabmeat (cooked and picked over)
½ cup TOSTITOS® brand All Natural Salsa (choice of Mild, Medium or Hot)
¼ cup mayonnaise
¼ cup chopped black olives
1 tablespoon snipped cilantro
4-8-inch submarine buns
2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
1 head of lettuce
½ cup celery
Directions
Chop crabmeat. Combine TOSTITOS® All Natural Salsa and mayonnaise and combine with crabmeat, along with celery, olives, and cilantro. Line buns with lettuce leaves, spread with crab mixture and top with sliced tomatoes. Add bun tops.'

A hoagie piece of bread with lots of mayo and mustard spread on it. Then some ham cold cuts w slices of cheese. I think they use American sliced cheese. And then you add shredded iceburg lettuce to it. I think that is how I have seen them made. But you can add whatever you want to it. That is how the chain Subway came to be.....

split a hogie roll, butter and mayo and mustard it too.
layer w/ meats and cheese, lettuce tomato and onion. pepperchini(sp) are good too. salt and pepper to taste.
add vinegar and oil if you like it .
