Hang a collection of your favorite things. Or find some brass trays and make a collage. Look at your wall as an artist's canvas just waiting to be adorned.
When you've gathered your items, place them on the floor until you find the arrangement that pleases you. Then transfer them to the wall. Make it fun. Anything can be art.

Hello,
Have a local artist paint your favourite photograph, and when it is finished and it's a nice likeness, have it framed, and hang that up, don't forget to have a different print stuck on the back, so you can have a different picture when the fancy takes you. Bye Tony M

depending on the size of your room why not a mirror to reflect light and space or a bunch of candid pics of friends and family arranged in a group with funky frames. or a flat screen tv

Pictures and paintings. Bare in mind that less is more. I personally thinks that a cover crowded room is unattractive.

If you mean in terms of art, I would suggest a large mirror. Try Ikea. They have decent priced mirrors that you can frame yourself or some that have beveled edges that look good by themselves.
