My dad forced cristianity on me for the last 13 years and i am tired of it. I practice Wicca ,but have to keep it secret. It is horrible him forcing me to do what religion he is, it should be my choice. I would never force religion on anyone.

I think religion should be a choice. It's a belief. Forcing your religion on someone is like forcing someone to like Coke more than Pepsi. It's just kind of silly.

I completely agree. I grew up catholic in a Mormon society filled with missionaries (I live in Utah). As if I didn't go through enough crap, I then decided I am Agnostic with a little belief in Paganism, my parents didn't take that too well. They now accept it but every great once in a while I get a " why don't you come to church with me" from my mom. I think forcing a religion on someone will just make them retract more. I've learned that when people accept your faith you can share your beliefs with each other without being critical, its then you want to listen to them and become friends. Always do what you believe is good for you.
Oh...and ignore the guys comment above mine, Wicca is not a bad thing at all, it's one of the faiths that I really respect. It's funny how people automatically think you warship the devil just because you're Wiccan.

No, I would not. I believe that spirituality (or lack thereof) is the choice of the individual. Trying to force someone to follow a religion that isn't their own is like trying to force-feed them: it usually leads to nausea and regurgitation.

Sorry to hear you're in such a tough spot. However, if you're under the age of majority there's not a whole lot you can do about it; once you're able to move out, it will be a different story. You might try connecting with other Wiccans in your area through the Witches of the World section at Witchvox:

Maybe you can at least get some emails going and find someone to talk to.

I wish you the best of luck.

Wiccan girl, I am sorry that your dad forced "religion" on you. I wish that you could have experienced relationship with a loving Heavenly Father. I think you might have felt differently. Parents want the best for their children, but sometimes we just don't get it right. To answer your question, No I would not force religion on someone. I can only hope that others may want to experience what I have found through a relationship with Christ based on how I live my life.

No religion should not be forced on anyone, but do not rebel with witchcraft and lose your soul because your father forced you to do something you didn't want to do. And I'm guessing your 13... So look hard at the world around you and really ask yourself why. Is it because of your father that you do this? If so you are still letting him force you to do it are you not?

May God be with you and guide you on your decision
I will pray for you.

As for the lady below me...

I do not think that wiccans worship the devil, I am not ignorant. But from a Christian stand point Christ said, "Verily I say unto you marvel not that I say you must be born again to enter the kingdom of heaven." So by being Wiccan she would be rejecting Christ who is the only way to heaven there by going to hell instead.

There are only two powers in this world, good and evil, light and darkness, heaven and hell, God and Satan... You serve one or the other consciously or not.
You are with God or against him.

i do no longer think of mum and dad could tell their toddlers to have confidence in a faith as fact because of the fact it has no information and little ones can think of for themselves as they enhance older. faith has been insufferable while it is composed of indoctrinating susceptible human beings and risky people who bypass away a theory equipment. Morals are further subjective yet arguably mandatory with the intention to exist interior a society. exposure to diverse theory structures (including religion) is high quality as long as those concepts are given without the expectancy of absolute conformity.

Heck no! I'd never try to force something so personal as religion on anyone.

I'm Christian, and no real Christian forces anything. If you ask I would simply tell you. You have probably seen some inconsistancies in what he is "preaching". People are all given freedom of choice and you have to choose, whatever belief system that suits you. I have a friend who is Wiccan and I have never forced my belief system on her. She understands mine and to some degree I do understand hers, even if I don't agree with it. She even goes with me to church whenever we are together.

Attempting to force religion on someone is an absurd idea. I don't understand why people do that.

The Smothering Churchies got me at 14 days old! I quit and found my own truth. It took 16 years to figure out, and I have to keep it secret too.
