Hi there Mimi, I can't seem to decide on a favourite, so here are the ones I decided on:
1. Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!" Have a wonderful day!
2. The sun has got to shine on a dog's as* sometimes.
3. The people that matter don't mind, and the people that mind don't matter.
All the best! :o)

Attributed to Dr. Johnson -"Sir, your wife, under pretence of keeping a bawdy-house, is a receiver of stolen goods."
Harlan Ellison "Only two things are infinite, the Universe and human stupidity - and I'm not sure about the former."
Paul Keating (former Australian Prime Minister, of another politician) - "He is simply a shiver looking for a spine to run up."
Brian Johnston, describing a cricket match between the West Indies and the English team - "The batsman's Holding, the bowler's Willie"
When a heckler kept on calling out "What about abortion?" late Australian prime minister Sir Robert Menzies eventually replied "In your case I'd make it retrospective."
In the early 1930s "Yabba" was famous for his witty heckling of cricketers at Sydney matches. During the bitter and controversial "Bodyline" tour, England captain Douglas Jardine vainly tried to wave away troublesome flies. Yabba's response "Leave our flies alone, they're the only friends you've got here."

Leonard asks me if there's anything I need to know before he dies, I think about it for a minute, turn to him, say what's the meaning of life, leonard? He laughs, says that's an easy one, my son, It's whatever you want it to be.
My Friend Leonard
Let's face it, Americans are fat all year round, but the holidays are when we really hit our stride. And you can bet the food we eat will be just as unhealthy as the families we're forced to visit. - George Carlin
Life is made up of years that mean nothing, and moments that mean everything...
Life is not a spectator sport; win, lose or draw, the game is in progress whether we want it to be or not. So go ahead, argue with the refs, change the rules, cheat a little, take a break and tend to your wounds. But play hard, play fast, play loose and free; play as if theres no tomorrow. Ok so, It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game
Life, it turns out, goes on. There is no cosmic rule that grants you immunity from the details just because you have come face-to-face with a catastrophe
I am so busy doing nothing... that the idea of doing anything - which as you know, always leads to something - cuts into the nothing and then forces me to have to drop everything.
Jerry Seinfeld
I like to think of anything stupid I’ve done as a 'learning experience.' It makes me feel less stupid."
I never dared to be radical when young
For fear it would make me conservative when old.
Robert Frost
I went into the woods because I wanted to live deliberately. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life... to put to rout all that was not life; and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. - Henry David Thoreau
I would never wanna belong to any club that would have someone like me for member.
If you want crappy things to stop happening to you then stop accepting crap and demand something more
It is not ignorance that is the problem, but the illusion of knowledge
I thought about building you a boat to survive the river of tears I'm crying for you, but the world's smallest violins just aren't a reliable source of lumber, and that cross you're nailing yourself to seems like it's bouyant enough anyways
I'd like to say that you're smarter then you look but then I'd be lying.

Two favourites
"Sanity is madness put to good use."
"Choose life. Choose a family. Choose your friends. Choose a job. Choose 7 months partying, three weeks cramming. Choose cigarettes, alcohol and coffee. Choose boys. Choose girls. Choose both. Choose your future. But why would anyone want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life. I chose somethin' else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons"

The sky is deep, the sky is dark
The light of stars is so damn stark.
When I look up, I fill with fear
If all we have is what lies here.
This lonely world, this troubled place
Then cold dead stars and empty space.
Well, I see no reason to persevere
No reason to laugh or shed a tear.
No reason to sleep or ever to wake
No promises to keep, and none to make.
And so at night I still raise my eyes
To study the clear but mysterious skies
That arch above us as cold as stone.
Are you there, God? Are we alone?

The most beautiful army in the world, with its pennons and plumes, its tiger-skin turbans and classical helmets, its shakos, shapskas and kolbachs, broke into panic cries of "Treachery!" as the Prussians, whom Napoleon had falsely said were Grouchy's troops, poured down to the Brussels road and hunted them to the frontier.
