now the people in question were pot smokers... so there were no doubt they would fail the pee test.. they were seen doing it on the company lot.. but when the police brought the dogs out there everyone car was locked... and they found a seed either on the tire or under it... on the outside..the dogs went pass 2 cars with at least a once in them and never bothered those cars..what gives.. my company has been doing lay off since oct/// this is a small town// now those 5 people of course no longer work there..i dont think the police set them up .. but the job ...no body went to jail.. even the one person who really did have stuff on him.. and he was a repet affender..can the job really make you take a test on the fact that a seed was found by your tire.. i dont smoke it.. but worry about them planting it..if they do and i go and it is neg.. what can i do about it.. from a legal stand point.. i dont trust my company at the moment

as i said i dont smoke it.. but sometimes i am around people who do.. will it still show up in urin... i have since told the ones i hang with if they do it .. dont do it around me

steve i dont queston weather or not they should have been fired.. only the method use.. a seed on the tire verse being told i succpet your doing drugs or u were seen doing it

Is it legal to have dogs sniff cars like that? Yes, just like they have bomb and drug sniffing dogs at the airport. Especially if the employer invited them on the parking lot.
Yes your employer can make you take a drug test. They can make you take one as a condition of employment. You may have in fact already agreed to it some of the fine print of the paper work they had you sign when you first started to work for them. In fact, the employer can fire you just for finding the seed next to your car, so you are actually lucky that they are giving you the opportunity to prove your innocence.
Will it show up in urine if your around people who smoke? Well I'm no doctor but it would depend how much second hand smoke you breathed in. So yes its possible. If you are a light pot smoker, and thin, it usually leaves your urin in a couple of weeks. If you just breathed in a little bit I don't imagine it will show up.

Forget the dogs. You said they were seen smoking pot on company property. If that is true, the can be fired on the spot WITHOUT a test.
