Moses called all of Israel and said to them: 'Hear, O Israel, the decrees and the ordinances that I speak in your ears today -- learn them, and be careful to perform them. The Lord your God sealed a covenant with us at Horev [Mount Sinai]. Not with our forefathers did God seal this covenant, but with us -- we who are here, all of us alive today. Face to face did God speak with you on the mountain from amid the fire.' (Deut. 5:1-4)

The Torah claims that the entire Jewish nation heard God speak at Sinai, an assertion that has been accepted as part of their nation's history for over 3,000 years.

You are quite right in everything you say. Every single Jew (actually Israelite would be more correct) heard God speak at Mount Sinai.

However, that was the only time that the entire nation heard God speak. After that, God spoke to the nation only through the Judges and the Prohpets, who were individuals that God selected to communicate between himself and the people.

The age of prophecy came to an end after the destruction of the first temple by the Babylonians. There was no more prophecy after that.

From a Christian point of view, God DIDN'T speak to Jesus. Jesus WAS God, or God incarnate. Besides that, God talked to lots of people in the New Testament. He spoke to Paul on the road to Damascus. He spoke to everyone present at the baptism of Christ. You are obviously pretty knowledgable about Jewish history. Good for you! You may need to work on your Christian history, however, before you ask a question like this. You are missing information.

Everything that God could possibly say was in the person of Jesus. Once Christ came to the world it is through Him that we have access to God. God lived on the outside of the Children of Israel, with today's believers He lives on the inside of believers in our hearts, by the power of the Holy Spirit. This is the reason why, believers today have such a strong conviction of the presence of God.

God needs all adult men to be kept and as such isn't a respector of persons. He has a plan to finish and He has particular duties for particular parts of His creation, including the Jewish people. The potter can opt for as He needs what to make of His clay. desire that helps.

In the Old Testament God said He was sending The Branch to Israel "And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of His roots." Isaiah 11:1

That Branch of God was Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 53:5 "but He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.
6. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way, and the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all. JESUS TOOK ALL OUR SINS, YOURS AND MINE ON HIMSELF.
7. He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth: He is brought as a Lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He opened not His mouth.
8. He was taken from prison and from judgment and who shall declare His generation? for He was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgressions of My people was He stricken.
9. And He made His grave with the wicked, and with the rich in His death; because He had done no violence, neither was any deceit in His mouth.
10. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He hath put Him to grief: when thou shalt make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.
11. He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied:by His knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many: for He shall bear their iniquities.
12. Therefore will I divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong; because He hath poured out His soul unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors;(2 thieves on calvary) and He bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Isaiah speaks of Jesus Christ our Savior and what He suffered on the Cross for you and me.

If they did or didn't hear God speak, they still didn't listen. They still used their gold to make a calf and pray to it.God gave them manna and they still complained. Just goes to show you,no matter what you've got,you always want a little more.
