Put the spareribs in the crockpot with spices and a little water. Let cook for a couple of hours and then add the potatoes. Spice it to suit your tastes and dig in. If you have ketchup and spices though you have the makings for bbq sauce.

BBQ sauce is nothing more than ketchup with onions, brown sugar, spices and some vinegar. We make it all the time using not much of anything. There is even southern BBQ sauce that doesn't use ketchup but vinegar as a base.

Take potatoes & slice, then place in bottom of crockpot. Sprinkle ribs with a little dry rub or dry seasoning, then place on top of potatos. Pour in about 1 cup water & cook on low for about 5 hours. In a small bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar or molasses, onion powder or dried onion flakes & white vinegar ( pour in a little worchester sauce or A-1 if you have any) Drain most of water from crockpot then pour ketchup mixture over ribs, toss to coat & recover and continue cooking on low for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours or so. You'll know when they're done - the meat will literally fall apart.....I made these for the Superbowl & they were great!!

They are wonderful pieces of cookware to have... here are some sites to visit:

but my favorite is to get a roast, put some onion, salt, pepper, garlic and a bay leaf simmer all day on low... makes a great roast
when you come home from a hard day at work it is a treat to come home to a ready made meal... you can add potatoes to the mix also.

ALSO you can clean northern beans and put them in the pot, cover with water and add either a half stick of butter or a couple pieces of bacon and cook all day on low. Come home and make
cornbread and some fried potatoes or bake some fries, this with some chilled sauerkraut and some greens.. YUM

I LOVE my CROCK pot!! :)

This may sound crazy but it tastes great. Add a can of coke to pot roast in the crock pot.
