Its called BT Pay and Call. Basically you have what they call a money box and you choose to top up either every week, 2weeks or month. You have to pay whateva you choose as your land line rental and you can only make calls out if you top up ( like a mobile) If you manage to stay on the service for a year and you dont default ( 4get to top up) they will then give you the option to get a normal phone line. U do need to be aware tho you cant have broadband with this option only dial up and it is a 12 month contract. It isnt the best thing in the world but if you have had money problem or you dont like getting in debt its an ok option. If you dont fancy it ask BT if they would like you pay a deposit on a normal landline instead.
Hope This Helps

Pay as you go is the traditional service , billing as each call is placed , the way since telephones were installed.
The newer option is flat rate for unlimited (or up to so many thousand minutes per month). My local unlimited is $15 / month and my long distance unlimited is $25 / month.
If you make very few calls, go with the old, pay as you go plan.

I don't have it! Is it Pay & Call you've been offered?
It works similar to a pay and go mobile. No bills (unless final bill). You top up line rental either weekly, fortnightly or monthly and top up for calls. If you run out of money then you only get incoming calls only and need to top up your virtual moneybox.. Really good service.
Rolling 12 month contract.
If you want more info then email me and I'll do my best to explain it. Or i'll add to this for you!!
Hope above gives basic insight to it.

I did have and if it`s the same one i had then you only receive incoming calls and i had like a phone card and topped it up at the post office or paypoint, the calls cost 10p min though, but there was another one that my uncle had and i think it worked something like this, you agree a limit that you can afford and you cant go by it,so you don`t get unexpected phone bills, hope this helps.

What are you talking about Laura? I can't comprehend the words that are coming out of your mouth.
