ITS YOUR WEDDING! Therefore anything YOU decide is entirely appropriate! White is truly beautiful and would look great on a Bride getting married a third time!

PS as far as it representing purity and virginity, this is nonesense. IT NEVER DID represent that. White was UNHEARD of in the middle ages on a Bride, in fact it was considered downright bad luck. However, many brides began wearing it and it became a tradition, not because of "virginity", not at all, but because of FASHION. So, its your wedding, choose what makes you happy!

Whether the gown is white, off-white or scarlet red is not so important as the style: if a dress has a train or is worn with a veil, that's for first marriages.

White means innocence; not sexual innocence so much as the innocence of youth. A woman who has been married before is expected to be wiser than a younger woman who has never been a wife, or run a household.

I know many women who have worn a gown with a train & veil at their second marriages becuse they "missed out" on it the first time around. A lot of people secretly laughed at them. Just thought you'd like to know.

In a traditional setting, then yes. Your the bride though, you should be able to deside that, some women have a white gown and add color accents. Some off white dress, have the look of a white dress. It's for your day, and you should choose, I'm sure you'll look great in whatever you choose.

People will think it is very tacky to wear white for a second or third wedding. Any other color is acceptable! Just avoid the "wedding dress" look. No train or veil. And any length is also acceptable.

wear what you want. if white was suppose to represent virginity, than a lot of women would be breaking that rule.(but some of us still are virgins on the wedding day). Some brides don't even wear white at their first wedding.

You can wear WHITE to your 9th Wedding-(hopefully not), but white is just not for Virgins anymore or woman with no children who acted like Virgins on their wedding day. I even started wearing WHITE after Labor Day...I've SInned...Not..Wear WHITE and make sure it's not OFF WHITE...You need to be front and center and a beautiful WHITE wedding gown will just set the whole day/night in a good event! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!

It is your wedding, you do whatever you want. In my mind that is the only true etiquette! I am wearing a red dress for my wedding and it is my first (and only hopefully!). Some people, my mother especially, are having a heart attack over this, but I LOVE this dress. It is ornate and gorgeous and is available in traditional white, but I'm not exactly traditional! It's your day, and I'm assuming you're a bit older given it's not a first marriage, so you especially don't have to listen to what others want. Enjoy the day in something that works for you!

If it's you second or third wedding, then you can wear an "off" white gown.Look at "Erica" from "All My Children",lol. She's been married so many times on the show,I bet she keeps that dress on a turnstile.

IT is the age of do what the hell you want when you want !!!

If you want to wear a hula skirt and the men wear jumpsuits then you go for it. Do not worry what others feel on YOUR special day !!

What others think of you is none of your business and should NOT be your concern !

: )
