Need help with wall color for north facing den that gets very little natural light. Our entry way has dark green slate floor and blue walls. The living room has mauve walls and light gray carpet and the dining room has one blue wall and three mauve colored walls with the same light gray carpet. The entry way, living room and dining room open into our dark den. The den has wood floors and a white ceiling with wood beams. The fireplace is on the north wall and has a wood mantle. What would be a good color to paint the walls to make the den more appealing and blend in with the rest of the rooms?

Find a gray shade that compliments all 3 colors: the mauve, blue, and green!

Debby Travis has a wonderful selection of paint colours. I chose a shade called nearly nude. You might want to check it out. It will go with anything. Sort of a beige, sand colour

Try out this web site www.bhg.com and then go to Decorating Gallery and scroll down to the coloraroom page- it will let you "try" colors on to see how they will look first!
