The candies are peppermint oil and sugar. The sugar is what will make a difference in the baking. You would need to very finely grind the candies so that they can be absorbed into the cake . . . or dissolve them in a fluid that you then mix into the batter. Neither method is easy.

Not really. Unless you are making something that is baked or boiled, the candy will not have time to dissolve completely and get the flavor into the whole product. Also peppermint extract is a lot stronger than any candy. Even baked and boiled dishes would be extra sweet rather than pepperminty. Take the time and head to the store or find someone who can run for you.

No, it still won't really work unless the recipe calls for peppermint candy to begin with. In the time it will take you to unwrap all the candy, cook it and try to make a paste of it you could have ran to the store and gotten the extract and done it right!

Experimenting is your best learning tool !!

I have tried this but not boiled with water. I simple ran the candies through a food processor to make a powder and continued from there. It turned out fine for ME... but you have to be the judge of your own food. What works for one person may not work for another. Cooking and baking are mostly opinion so you need to try it to find whats right for you !

You don't even have to make it into a cream. You can just make peppermint cookies with the crushed on peppermint candies put into dough. Go to website below and I am sure you can find out how to make those cookies. Good luck.

I would add the crushed candies and subtract some sugar to make up for the sugar in the candy. Try it, you might come up with something really good.
