Not exactly clear on what you mean. If you want to close a PST file right-click on it and choose close.

You may need to go to Control Panel > Mail > E-mail Accounts > View/Change > and change the PST it's trying to check for.

If you want to stop mail from delivering into a PST go to Tools > E-mail Accounts > View/Change... from this screen, at the bottom it will specify if a PST is having mail delivered to it.

Additionally, you can change the Start up folder in Tools > Options > Other > Advanced
