Yeah, a dog can have a pink-eye: if you spray it in the eye with windex.

Yes, your dog can get it from your son...

Keep your son's hands washed constantly. Wash all pillow cases, blankets, etc.. frequently. Everything that your son comes in contact with. His hands, touching his itchy eyes, etc.. Keep those hands washed!!
Pink eye is actually a very common eye infection, especially in schools and daycares where there are so many children and germs and bacteria are constantly being spread.

Pink eye in the dog can be treated with Terrimycin Opthamalic ointment. Antibiotic for the eye specifically for animals.
You'll be treating 2 kids with it if your dog ends up with it too....

Highly contagious!

Conjunctivitis or pink eye is one of the few infections that can be spread from dogs to humans and vice versa. I've known whole families to have it including their dog. Make sure your son washes his hands a lot and try to keep him from hugging your dog around his face until you get this under control. The first signs that your dog has contracted it is similar to your son. A discharge from his eyes and his eyes kind of stuck together.

A dog can get mostly any disease a human has. Pink eye is one of them. My dog got pink eye from me 2 weeks ago. He got rid of it 3 days ago. Well, it's not really my dog it's my friends but it seems like mine.

Hmm. It's an infection so I would be very careful. Pink eye is highly contagious in humans. Give your doctor a call - ask how long the contagious stage lasts.

Pink eye is contagious. Dogs can get an infection like that. They live and breathe and have red blood running through their veins too.

Yes, it is possible, but not much of a concern. Dogs can handle a lot of things that humans can't. I wouldn't worry too much about it. =)
