In the UK they say mobile phone instead of cell phone and use verb 'to text', send a text message, etc.

Do they say 'text' the US or it's called something else?

They use text messaage most of all but it also depends on what kind of message. I know a company that sends their employees text messages but it comes through as a sms text. It really is all the same thing however. Here we call them both.
