the program will not allow you to do that ...it has hidden files in it and it will not let you complete the download!! .... or even allow you to tranfer the partial download off of the the disk or remove it from the disk and put it anywhere.?????? stumped!! lol.....or or is that "stump" I just purchased it and now cant use it!

I ran into this problem too! I have put the site you need to goto to get the program removed completely. Use this if you had the free version and then had to upgrade because it expired.

First, reboot the pc into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key as the pc starts up. Once in safe mode, go to the Control Panel, and then "Add or Remove Programs", and delete AVG. Then, reboot and install the AVG from the install program you downloaded. Hope this helps.

in windows XP

go to start>set program access and defaults>on the left side pane go change or remove programs>find AVG anti virus>click its logo>then click remove and follow the unistall wizard.
when its uninstalled insert the install disk or download a version off there website (http://www.grisoft.com/doc/Programs/lng/us/tpl/tpl01)

download it from the site
if you need to
download it from a friends house
use a flash drive or cd disk
