I honestly think the reason we don't have cures for cancer, aids is because drug companies cant profit from it. I think that is sick and we as the American people should take a stand. Just yesterday on CNN (Gwen Beck SHow) he annouced they think they have found a cure for cancer, but drug companies won't make it due to profit. What do you think?

Perhaps before people jump to conclusions they should just do a little research. The media usually only gets half a story.

The hype about this 'cure' is coming from a company that has already patented the drug . . so that they can make a profit. Geesh. The drug hasn't even been tried on people who have cancer . . its all speculation at this point. People need to let this 'new' cure just go through the paces . . find out if there is a benefit, use it on patients, see which cancers it may have an effect on, establish dosages for different types and grades of tumor, and establish if the product is safe or not.

Please read the response from the American Cancer Society as this hyped up product that may or may not have potential is quickly taking on the characteristics of an urban legend . . an Internet Myth.

When you're done reading that, than check out the company that has exclusive rights to marketing this product. This company stands to make a huge profit if any of this proves to be true . . so there goes the idea that drug companies won't make any profits.

CardioMetabolics Inc

These types of hyped up 'cures' found for cancer happen all the time . . been there . . heard that before. Sometimes the drugs turn out to have some benefit for some types of cancer . . but so far none have been able to handle all 200 different types of cancer.

Can't cure something they don't know what causes it. Also,Cancer is many diseases so there couldn't be one cure.
The treatment for lung cancer is different then for Breast Cancer.
Anyone that believes that the drug companies have a cure are living in a world of stupid. That myth has been going around for years.
There won't be a total cure but they do have drugs that make it treatable to live longer with a good quality of life.
Remember no one gets out of life alive. Your going to die from something.

I think it has less to do with proft and more to do with over population and the drain on the economy that elderly, non-working people cause.
Human beings are not supposed to live forever. When the population of any other organism on Earth reaches critical mass, disease is always introduced and it keeps the population in check. Its the natural order of things.
Think about the profit potential of cancer curing drugs, are you kidding me? I mean, if they can get hundreds of dollars for anti-depressants and painkillers think of what they could charge for a cancer vaccine or cure.
I think it would be terrible for the world if the largest ender of human life- cancer- was abolished. Think about what would happen to the world.

definite, quite. i'd say the treatment became stumbled on about 1954, yet large business enterprise sat on it coz there became too a lot funds to be made. you won't be able to discover the treatment in case you've already got the treatment. Terry Fox ran throughout Canada and raised $25M, what number $M did Steve Fonyo improve operating throughout Canada, operating throughout Australia, swimming the English Channel? imagine of all the walk-a-thons, dance-a-thons, bake-a-thons, etc. that were held ad nauseum. all the little coin bins in docs' workplaces, by technique of shop cashiers, etc. what number TRILLIONS of bucks do you imagine were amassed because different nationwide maximum cancers organizations were formed? And comprehend this, that money isn't what became spent, i.e. given to analyze bodies, it quite is significant. That became invested and the pastime is what became given to the analyze bodies. And at those quantities, i.e. TRILLIONS, the most cancers organizations had funding innovations far previous what you and that i'd have with our somewhat paltry quantities to make investments. not purely is that a lot funds surely a DISincentive to stumble on a treatment, it really is, in an exceptionally authentic sense, not funds, it really is potential....the variety of potential that ought to purchase not purely human beings, yet governments, international locations, huge chunks of the entire planet, sitting on a maximum cancers treatment isn't something.

Stop spreading disinformation. I've noticed a large number of questions on Yahoo! answers recently regarding DCA. Most are posted by relatively new Q&A users and promote DCA as a cure for cancer. I suspect this is being done by one or a few associated people. I am wondering what their motivation is.

First of all, Glenn Beck not credible. He is doing humanity a disservice by promoting a research paper as the cure for cancer without any disclaimers. Second, this is an excellent blog by Dr. Len Licthenfeld of the American Cancer Society on DCA.

Keep in mind, they cure cancer all the time (in mice and cell cultures). Extremely rarely is the technology transferable to humans. Humans metabolize drugs differently.

These DCA "questions" keep appearing over and over in this forum. I can only assume this is to disseminate misinformation.

It amazes me just how gullible peeps like you can really be. If there were a cure....any cure, believe me there would be plenty monies to go around. You get some dim-wit reporter's who can never give all the true fact's or investigate well enough. Cancer is just one of the fatal disease's that we as humans have been trying to understand and conquer ever since it was diagnosed. I'm sure back in the day of Polio which I'm sure was killing millions as well, there was some one saying the same thing about that.Put your efforts to raising monies to help find cures for any disease's. Many medicines and drug's come out of testing them for totally different sickness's. There are many scientist and pharmacist/chemist looking for a cure right now as anyone of them can hold that one key to saving many lives and making many more lives more comfortable to live and survive. Have a good day....... ;)

I think you're incredibly gullible.

Drug companies are not faceless automatons. They are made up of PEOPLE. People who get cancer, whose spouses and children get cancer, whose parents get cancer... They want a cure just as badly as everyone else. If there really was a "cure", THEY WOULD WANT TO MAKE IT AVAILABLE.

The truth is, there will never be "A cure". Cancer is not a single disease, it is a name for many different diseases with many different causes and manifestations. There are some kinds of cancer that are almost 100% curable, but those cures do not work for other kinds. Every cancer is different, so mulitple kinds of "cures" will be needed. Anyone who tells you that "A cure" exists (implying that it works for all kinds of cancers) is a liar. Pure and simple. A liar.

I dont think thats true. You would think that ONE person out of that drug company would have been affected by cancer in some way, by either knowing somebody that has it or something, and they would have enough heart to find a way to get it out.

How is there no profit potential? If I had cancer, I would pay anything to be cured...
