Epoxy is a two part reactive finish that must be mixed in a certain ratio for it to harden properly. Polyurethane Varnish is an Oxygen catalyzed finish that you simply brush on to the surface where exposure to oxygen causes it to harden.

Epoxy resin is a synthetic resin used in coatings and adhesives.
Polyurthane is various polymers used in foams and in resins as for coatings.

epoxy is mixed in 2 parts before you use it and is much more durable than poly
