Today a woman pointed at my leather jacket and said "That cow was murdered to make that coat", in a righteous manner.
I told her that I didn't think there where any witnesses and that I would now have to murder her too

one word here:

RESPECT

Lots of people have different views about how we are living our lives on this planet. Some people see the way we treat animals and are horrified. Some of these people become rather hot under the collar when they see things that hurt their sensibilities. I'm not saying that either meat eating or wearing a leather jackets are sinful or criminal, it's just that we all have differing viewpoints.

I would have said - "yes, I'm aware of that. But how much damage to the environment was brought about with the creation of your cotton / polyester blouse?" (cf. chemical use to create cotton and mining of petrochemicals and global warming) Often people can't see the forest for the trees.

As to the Christian above, that viewpoint has been responsible for some horrendous activities in the past. Like the way certain Burger chains are using the Amazon rainforest at an insane rate to grow beef for American hamburgers. (cf. McLibel.org) That is done because of this "rule over the animals" idiocy. The Bible was written when there were a heck of a lot less people on the earth and when the environment could cope with the number of people. It can't these days (cf. Global warming) so we really need to question all our practices and put them through the seven generation filter - what will the outcome be of my actions if I think about the people who will follow me in SEVEN generations?

hope this is of some limited benefit to you....

Love and Light,

Jarrah

Murder is defined as killing one of your own species (humans), so I don't think killing a cow would count.
Some people just put animals on an equal plane with humans and get all bent out of shape when their belief meets hard reality.

Dude that is her opinion... my opinion- well the cow was already murdered so what difference would it make if I wore this jacket. God created cows-and other animals for our consumption... We need to eat! But that doesn't mean we need to cause cruelty to them, be humane about it people! Anyways... Good awnser..made me laugh!;)

Ask her if she knows any animal communicators. Once she's found one, get her to ask a cow (or other domesticated food animal) what they think about being killed for food.

You should have told her.....

No! The cow was murdered to make nice fat juicy blood dripping steaks for dinner.

This is just the 'left-overs'!!

Good one, people who go around criticising people need a taste of their own medicine

Yes, but I would not have said anything more after the witnesses part.

LMAO. I grew up on a farm and my response would have been, "It wouldn't have lived long anyway, honey."

What the hell, anyway. If she eats vegetarian, good on her. But what makes her think other people will stop wanting beef and milk?

lol good response.

Yeah, I believe it ... jeesh, murdering cows, what next? I wonder if she swats mosquitoes that bite her, or steps on ants on the ground, there's no real difference between them and cows. Life is life, right? lol
