I've got an OLD monitor, printer, speakers, and a scanner that doesn't work anymore. I want to chuck em out, but where is the proper place to do so?

If you really want to throw it away, the proper place to dispose of it is at a local garbage dump. Just like with toxic chemicals, oils, grease, and tires, there are certain things in the computer that will not decompose. You might have to pay a few bucks, but most likely you can just drop it off or have the garbage guy pick it up.

Put them out by the front curb on trash day, someone took ours in 8 mintues!!
Go to a dumpster and toss it in!

there is no proper way, just set it out with your garbage on tash collection day, and believe me, someone will take it for the parts. lot's of trash pickers. just set it out in an alley or behind a bar.

appliances are called "white items" small appliances get picked up by the regular garbage service usually twice a month on a certain day of the week, look on your local township webpage

donate to a thrift store or 2nd hand store they'll dispose of it.

call your local recycling station they will tell you where to get rid of it

you could sell it on ebay, even if it doesnt work! but you have to specify what is wrong with it so who buys it knows what he is getting
