How many of the Americans actually think this?
Why do you think this?
Who told you this was the case?
Give me some proof - not just a vague idea about British politics, remember I live here so I will know if its BS
If its valid I promise I will check it out and change my mind

Erm - where did I say I thought this was the case - is this a case of not reading the question?
I ask (and I got the idea) because this is the second time I have had an answer like this
In the U.S., we have a tradition of granting every religion lots of leeway, while in the UK, religion is state controlled.

Religion is not state controlled in the UK. What can get people confused is that there is one religion considered to be a state religion, that is the Church of England. And there is a relation between the state and that church. But I'm not even sure if that is still the majority religion in the UK.
The state has nothing to do with the Presbyterians, the Baptists, the Jews, the Muslims, etc. The state does not seek to control them. So religion is not state controlled.

This much I know, there are laws being passed and all ready in acted through out many countries through out Europe, U.K. and Canada, which come down hard on anything pertaining to Christan values. There have been several pastors in Canada imprisoned for hate crimes, they preached from the book of 1 Cor. in The Bible, and publicly quoted scripture pertaining to Homosexuality, fornication, adultery, etc. Perhaps the statement you heard was in reference to the monumental pace that the nations are declining into an anti-Christ governing mentality. When it has become a crime to,"QUOTE," scripture, pray in any public building out loud, preach the truth of Gods Word, without being sued , beat, beheaded,or imprisoned, we can easily see the clouds of The Lords return are rapidly gathering!

Not for decades and probably over a century. I believe the Queen is still the titular head of the Church of England (the Anglicans - in the US the Episcopalians) just like she's the titular head of the government but she has no real power in either case. She appoints the Bishops she is told to like she appoints the Prime Ministers she is told to.
