this is going to be my boyfriend and my first child together,however he has been doing pot since he was 13 years old,and smokes 2 packages a day sometimes more sometimes less.I have convinced him to get some major counseling and rehab but he refuses to quit.Now that we are expecting this baby will it have lots of drugs in it's system and possibly be very sick?

The baby shouldn't as long as you are not around inhaling the smoke or smoking yourself.
You need him to quit before the baby is born he is not going to be responsible enough when smoking to take care of a baby in the proper manner.

The only way for there to be drugs in the babies system is if you took drugs during pregnancy and second hand smoke can effect the baby just as if you were the one smoking the cigarette. THC that is found in pot can sometimes cause infertility or slower sperm but other than that - it wont cause any harm to your baby.. except if your boyfriend continues to do drugs when the baby is born. If he cant quit for you and his baby - why stay with him? But that's up to you. Take Care Honey!

Im not sure about any genetic mutations if the father smokes pot, but you could always check with your doctor. Make sure he doesnt smoke around you, in some states they can test you or the child for drugs in the system, if the baby tests positive they will take him/her from you. I would urge him to get some help and if he refuses then leave.

I am surprised he was able to conceive. Smoking that much marijuana drops your sperm count. You can not breathe in the smoke while he is smoking. His clothes probable smell like it as well, which I'm sure your around him enough to deal with the smell. I do not think that your baby will have any problems , as long as you are not around him while he smokes. he should seriously consider stopping before the baby is born. When he holds the baby he will have the smell of pot on him. I would not let anyone that smelled like pot any where near my baby. I wish you the best of luck!

Probably not, but you can't do ANY drugs while your pregnant or that's exactly what will happen. He needs rehab before the baby gets here or leave him, you as a good mom can't let him be around your baby.

Not unless you're around him while he is doing those things, then you would be breathing in the smoke and passing it along to your unborn child. You need to set stronger ultimatums for your bf, its not okay to be a pothead.
