I've found the hardest thing was taking time off for a vacation and trying to find someone to care for the cat.
We put them in the boarding kennel but they picked up some sickness.
When I hired kids to look after them, in one case I think they abused it and in another case I think the kid let a relative in the house who stole some money.
A bonded pet sitter business has worked out, but it was expensive.

Leaving the house and immediately missing the company of a cat. That's the hardest thing. Litter box cleaning takes 2-3 minutes.

A cat is very independant and usually takes care of itself. A cats litter tray must be kept clean, free of poo, if not, they will more than likely find a nice little corner somewhere in your house. Cat poo is not a pleasant smell, but if you keep the litter box clean, feed them 2-3 times a day, give them plenty of love and affection. You will have one happy cat. Cats also shed alot of hair so, be prepared for cat hairs!

Cats are not hard to take care of they just need to be loved and cared for. Clean up the litter box on a regular bases and keep them fed, have toys for them to play with and spend time with them when they want to play. They will let you know when they want to play. They are wonderful pets and you can teach them a lot of interesting things, my cat has different meows for different things. Very spoiled! Love Cats!

I guess cleaning out the litter box if I had to name something. My cat is a pleasure and I don't mind doing anything for him. I could list many things I like about caring for a cat.

Cleaning the cat box. It's by far, the worst part of having a cat.

Probably putting up with their inherant independant attitudes. They don't like to be petted, unless it's their idea. They don't listen or train like a dog does. If you allow them to keep their front claws, you will have to replace furniture and rugs. The litter box cleaning can be a very smelly activity. Oh, and by the way, I LOVE my CAT!!!

The litter box. Besides, that and feeding them, they really take care of themselves. The litter box really sucks. I have been cleaning one out for over 9 years now.
