I like how people ask blind questions here. My psychic ability tells me if you're over age of 24 and have dated for 1-2 years, then the answer is yes. If you've dated for longer than 2 years and are 24 or older, then no. If you're younger than 24, why do you want to get engaged so young?

I don't know? Do you value his love and all that he brings into your life? Do you want to share the rest of your life with him? Are you ready to make potentially huge compromises, to face the ups and downs of sharing lives and put another person first at least some of the time?
Or do you just want a big sparkly ring you can show off to your mates about?
If the former then it doesn't really matter because love is in your heart and what is on your finger doesn't matter all that much. If the second then at least you are being honest and you could bug him into buying one for you.

It depends on both of you. Have you talked about life in general with each other, what are your values, your lifestyle, your financial plans, your life together? Has he even hinted in the area of marriage. Do you both want to have kids, does he seem controlling, are you controlling him. You need to look at absolutely everything that is going to happen during your life together, and if you love and like each other, then hopefully it will work. Divorce shouldn't be an option except for extremely unusual circumstances, so try to look at it as living the rest of your life with this one guy. If you love him and like him, and you want him to be the father of your kids, then you need to bring up marriage, just do it subtly. If he doesn't want to get married, then you probably need to find someone else, because you obviously want to get married. Thanks for reading. Good luck and God bless!

sorry i don't even agree with engagements.what is it anyway??my husband & i decided to get married told everyone & less than a year later we had the most amazing wedding.engagements are another excuse for retailers to make loads of money.
being engaged doesn't mean you will both love each other anymore than you already do.
if you want to make a comittment to each other get married or move in together.

well i have been with my fella 3 years.
we arent living together (he says he wants to but puts back the date all the time)
we arent engaged (he wont get engaged until we have lived 2gether 6 months)
we dont have kids (he is religious so not until after we are married)
like its gonna happen. im sick of his attitude im off out on the pull next friday and he is dumped.
if your relationship is anything like mine i would move on. my fella is to settled to change its took me a while to realise it but i have nothing to lose.

yes in the year 2022 after you are too old to have kids and realize that you have wasted your life by not just asking him years earlier to pop the question or get out.

Yea If it is meant to be. Me and my b/f (now fiancee)Were dating 3 1/2 years b4 we got engaged.Now we r getting married March 17th 2007.Just be patient.Talk to him about it just don't over do it.
