I have never had a girlfriend. I am 33 years old. Is it because I am ugly? Are looks THAT IMPORTANT to all women?

Many of us go through similar feelings about ourselves. Although i agree with bits and pieces of what has been said from others, it is solely up to you. I would agree that negative energy prevents you from seeing opportunities. These chances are always there for us, but I believe we are blinded by a lack of confidence. Unfortunately society has made it seem that a certain age is unreasonable for not having a girl/boy friend. You are not abnormal but unique, your own self. Honestly, have you not seen a "ugly" person with a girlfriend? Although "ugly" is ONLY interpretation, everyone has a chance. It is the same with "personality". Thus, it is almost always in our mind. You have to do this for yourself though. Nothing we or I say can change anything, unless you allow yourself to open up. Just care about you!!!

If ANYONE tells you that looks are not important.. OR do not play a role in the relationship. They are lying. It's just Some women Like big heavy set guys. Others like the skinny guys. Maybe the looks don't play as much into the factor as other things...such as, Money, Dependability. That's why you'll notice some of these Nerdy dorky guys have these HOT women. It's not because of there looks. They got a good bank roll and can provide. A lot of women Like that and will put up with someone who doesn't look as good. Now the younger generation of women is just the opposite. Like Teen agers...but Hey...that's how teenagers are.
I know I'm gonna get a lot of negative feed back on this. But the truth hurts..and people think we should always SPARE someones feelings. So Look at your life. If you are ugly, and have very little money. Don't expect to get a HOT G/F. Maybe your standards are to high. But there is always that slim chance you could run into someone you find Very attractive..who likes you. But those are EXTREMELY hard to find. Good luck.

There's someone for everyone! You probably need someone who's got about the same amount of "looks" that you have.
But much more IMPORTANT than looks:
Take an inventory of what you have to offer the right person - write it down!
Make another list of the qualities you feel would be important for her to have. Focus on what's most important to you.
I did this 17 years ago and I've been happily married for 14 years now!

Look's aren't that important to women. If you really give it opening up a chance and your yourself then you should do fine. Being open and honest about yourself should be enough. Plus if respectful and don't have a ton of emotional baggage you'll be ok.
Just look at Flava Flav if he can get women as ugly as he is then anyone can get women.

Drop the thoughts of second-guessing yourself or if looks, money, and so on matters. Age is a number.
You want to impress a woman, talk to her as if you would talk to your best friend. A good frame of mind is to tell yourself that she already likes you and go from there.
A woman is very adept of seeing through a fake front or sensing nervousness, act natural, be confident, talk about fun things.
Do not be too accomodating to her wishes, hold back some so you remain something of a mystery that she is willing to come back to for a second meeting.

No looks are not important, but how you take care of yourself is. Are you sure that maybe you are the one being picky? Are you only going after a certain type of girl? Are you being shallow? Take a good look and how you are acting and what type of person you are looking for, maybe you need to change your tactics and make yourself more available to women's needs.

Think positive, dont look & ugly thats very negitive. You will never meet a girl if you are negitive about yourself you will carry that vibe all night with you. You will never meet a decent girl really in bar drinking. You meet someone through friends/ work/ hobbies. Check out dating agenice professional ones not on the net.

Personally, I think that looks are not that important - personality, kindness and toughtfulness are far more important. I think you are seriously lacking in confidence. If you feel good about yourself otherse will see you in a different light. Join a group of like minded people - you will soon find women who are interested in you. Best of luck.

Looks are kinda important to woman. But never give up. Put on some aftershave, little cologne, change your style, cut your hair nicley, get some one's attention.
Girls like people who's funny and romantic
