Because after Cain and Abel were born, the only eligible females in all of creation who'd have anything to do with them were the chimpanzees (the gorillas kept laughing at their equipment).

To those who keep claiming evolutionary theory says we evolved from monkeys - no it does not! It says we have a common ancestor (which explains the sharing of DNA). The idea that we come from monkies was a means the creationists came up with to make evolution sound like it was heresy. Whereas in fact, the Catholics accept evolution. Which is pretty big of them, seeing it was only 15 years ago that they finally accepted that the Earth revolves around the Sun.

The same way your cousins are genetically similar to you compared to random people on the street.

CJ and Dansefanatik... You both have no idea what evolution is. Evolution has never claimed humans evolved from apes, evolution holds that we share a common ancestor millions of years back. We're very distance relatives of apes, not descended from them. Read a book on the subject before you start making baseless accusations based on little more than what a pastor may have told you.

there are flaws with evolution just as there are flaws with believing everything you read (the bible) It is highly probable that we are decendants from chimps some years ago. I dont fully agree or disagree with either idea (the bibles view or evolution) both are important to understand and be aware of. My religious friend told me evolution cant work because its stupid to think that we were once eels.....so many people totally confuse evolution for what it is. he also said if people are constantly pushed off of a building, why would they eventually not grow wings.....people people people....before you criticize one or the other (but its mostly religious nerds criticize evolution) LEARN WHAT THE OTHER IS and understand it. just because you dont agree with it doesnt mean you cant learn something other people may think...

oh and ummm to answer your question better....i think there is something inbetween evolution and god. and im not sure us humans are supposed to find out what it is either....

When the Almighty made life, there were substantial parallels. We share 67% of "our" DNA code with the flatworm. So what? That is a statistic. It can be interpreted in a number of ways, but the interpretations are not science!

because of the fact the "evolutionist" is fascinated interior the species with which we proportion the main genetic textile (suggesting user-friendly ancestry). So, human beings and bananas have a user-friendly ancestor, albeit one interior the far-distant previous. interior the comparable way, i might wager that we proportion some DNA with algae, yet in all probability under we proportion with the banana. for this reason, the user-friendly ancestor for algae and human beings is much extra distant in evolutionary background than the user-friendly ancestor for human beings and bananas. Following this comparable line of thinking, we can assume that the user-friendly ancestor for human beings and chimps replaced into very recent in background, particularly in evaluation to our user-friendly ancestry with bananas - suggesting that chimps are close cousins of ours (and that we are apes, ourselves). Toyotas, on the different hand, proportion areas because of the fact they proportion the comparable maker (or species of maker - via which I advise that each and one and all Toyotas are geared up via human beings). it rather is a temptation to think of that a matching reason can get carry of for similarities between chimps and human beings, yet in comparison to Toyotas, chimps and human beings are organic and organic beings, and can reproduce. vehicles are mechanical and can't reproduce. If vehicles could desire to attain this, the similarities and modifications between your Toyota and your neighbor's Toyota, or your Toyota and a tractor, could be lots extra significant in regard to their layout. yet given their human foundation, i might say the layout modifications/ similarities are regarding function. Given the Biblical description of the "function" of human beings, that is not any longer worry-free to work out why many species might exist in any respect. Why does God choose tens of millions of categories of beetles? Why cave-residing lizards? what's the objective of the water bear? chilly viruses? In biblical words, the life of maximum animals isn't clever - it rather is entirely God's ingenious caprice or something. The Darwinian clarification is a minimum of a few form of clarification. As an advantage, it is likewise clever, and is verifiable.

Because we split off a few million years back and we share a common ancestor with a common DNA. See how that works???

Well, we are related...
Or is that just another of god's tricks to confuse us and prove how powerful he is. So powerful that even we cannot understand it...

Edit* Ha, I was just joking, but another answerer above me just stated basically the same thing and meant it... Funny!
