you will be issued a pair of Military non breakable glasses and made to wear them all during basic training. This way you will learn to fire all the weapons with them and learn to use the special inserts that go in your gas mask. Once you are at your permanent duty assignment you can wear your contacts or civilian glasses. If you are in a unit that goes to the field alot, I would suggest that you keep those glasses for such an event. Good Luck to you.

You can wear glasses/contacts except under certain conditions. I think the only occupation that is required to have 20/20 vision is if you apply for Army flight school as an enlisted.

You can wear contacts under most conditions/situations in the military, but you will get glasses issued to you when you join for situations when you can't wear contacts.
