I usually go with reds, because they have a lot of intensity, flavor and healthy antioxidants, and they compliment many different foods. If you're going to have Italian food, I would go with a Chianti or Sangiovese. Personally I really like Cabernets though. They are a little fuller bodied and go well with different meats. If you're having a lighter dish such as fish or a creamy pasta, you can try some of white wines such as pinot grigio. I would also recommend a Riesling, which is a sweeter white wine. It's great by itself or with a dessert. Hope this was helpful, enjoy!

There is no right or wrong answer here. It depends. If the wine is for a meal pick a wine that will compliment your dinner. If you don't know, ask your friendly wine merchant. If it's just for sipping then, depending on your tastes and price range, try a good pinot noir for a red or perhaps a nice crisp Sancere(sauvignon blanc) for a white. Champagne is great... with or without food.

It depends on what is being consumed with it..chicken and seafood white is recommended, for beef red is recommended. I know for most ppl that are not serious wine drinkers, white is preferred. once a taste is acquired for it over time, then some switch and prefer the red wine. white zinfandel is a sweeter white wine, and most non wine drinkers will drink it. i prefer a good riesling (sterling castle is good) when i drink white. for red wines, i prefer a shiraz cabernet (penfolds, or maribou are my favorites.) it all depends on the people you are serving it to, and how wine savvy they are. There are so many good ones out there!

if you like sweeter or lighter wines go White, full bodied go red. It's a matter of personal taste. you can always have red with dinner and switch to a lighter white for after. I like Pinot Noir for red and a Chardonnay just for sipping after dinner.

Compromise and get a bottle of rosé champagne or sparkling wine. I recommend Roederer Estate. Good stuff.

If it's with dinner, it should complement the food. If it's for dinner, I'd suggest a Dolcetto, Beaujolais, or Riesling,
