The bird is not on the bottom of the cage, he acts totally fine, it was a tiny episode but hasn't continued to drool or anything. I am not positive but my housecleaner was at my house and maybe the chemicals irritated him.

take to vet right away! Birds get respitory infections and seem fine for a long time, the snot usually goes unnotived, until they just sit at the bottom of the cage and die. Take to vet asap. They will put ti in a glass tank like cage and pump a gas in to to clear up the infection, kind of like a resperator.

It sounds like maybe he could be regurgitating since he is acting normal other than that. To be sure you should go to a vet. If you can't afford a vet just take th bird to a pet store and ask them. Someone that knows those birds needs to see what the bird is doing.. How often does he/she do it? If not often throughout the day, that's fine... Also, The person who answered regurgitation is right in the idea of the bird thinking of you as his mate. Not to mention if he ahs a buddy in the cage with him, he will do it. I had several quakers. Those were my favorite birds. They do think of the person who cares for them as mate in more ways than one. For the safe side though, you should have someone who knows birds check the bird out.

It could also be regurgitation. Mated pairs regurgitate food to each other as a sign of affection. A pet bird sees you as it's mate and may be trying to regurgitate to you. It's a very common thing in budgies and other parrots. My 18 year old Galah regularly regurges on his foot and then eats it. Disgusting, I know, but totally normal.

its hard to tell if a bird is sick. even a small drool could be a super-deadly disease. a bird has extremely sensitive lungs, so even smells from chemicals that we take for granted could be dangerous to birds. my advice is to take it to a vet right away
