What kind of relationship do you have with your boss? All you have to do is ask...but only when neither of you are working. "There is a time for everything...," said a wise man in a book written so long ago.... Why do you need to look for warning signs as if it was some kind of illness? Atheism is a system of belief which denies the existence of God. Another wise man said that a fool in his heart said there is no God. We don't need to judge anyone based on their beliefs, but on their actions. I have many friends who are atheists, and many of them have treated me better than the pastor at my church. I don't fear them, and they are not afraid I will attack them with a fresh onslaught of the traditions of man dressed up to look like they are what Christianity is supposed to be. My atheist friends sometimes do ask me why I am everyone's friend, and not like the other Christians they know...I explain that Jesus wouldn't ram it down anyone's throat, but would present it in the way he lived. That was so intriguing that people would ask for His Way. He saw what people wanted to hear, because he could see the desires of their hearts. If we allow the Holy Spirit to lead us to those who are eager to hear the Word, we won't be harrassed by all those atheists, and other -ists. To know Him is to Love Him. Know the Word, and you will know HIm...it will bring you peace so that you will know how to react around the rest of the human beings who are non-believers...you will become a true disciple of the Way--and people will start asking you questions, if the Spirit moves them...know the Word, and you will know how to respond to those questions. Fear not for He will be with you...He's standing at the door, knocking. LET HIM IN! Your boss, if an atheist who wants to know why your work has improved and you aren't creeping around like you are afraid of the atheists anymore, will ask you why things seem so better for you. That will be your opening, to do what you were commissioned to do...preach the Gospel, humbly, but with the power of the Holy Spirit. Shalom!

I note that you two times capitalized the adjective "atheist." because that's not a noun, like, say, "Christianity," the be conscious atheist isn't capitalized. purely those who crazily insist that atheism is a "faith" are at chance of capitalize the be conscious, often as a ploy to "stick it" to those non-believers. So, in line with that commentary, i visit wager that you're, actually, a religionist, likely a Christian, and also you're adversarial to the conception of atheism. If i'm incorrect, sue me. even as I also imagine that maximum (i.e., ALL) non secular persons are delusional, I surely do not comprehend uncomplicated procedures to connect the be conscious "paranoid" to atheists. It in basic terms would not make sense. Paranoid about what?! As a lifelong healthy and chuffed atheist, I surely have not in any respect been paranoid about something, now to not indicate those who wade through non secular-depending delusions. I purely sense sorry for them. that's our compassion you missed on your rush to call atheists paranoid.

What difference does it make to you? Maybe I'm missing a crucial detail like you work in a church or Catholic school, but if it is a non religious work environment, it really is not your business what he/she is. As long they are ethical and fair, butt out. And this is coming from someone with a faith base, however it is not my job to ram it down the throat of anyone I come in contact with! Besides, looking for signs might provoke a satanic ritual from them! LOL

Oh my goodness, you sound like it's some kind of unstable mental problem like being a drug addict or someone considering suicide. I'm a Christian, that's my belief. If he's an atheist, as long as he's not pressuring you into becoming one, that's his belief and his choice. Just treat him with respect, do your job, and go home.

If he get a crazy look in his eye and tries to eat you ... no wait, that's lions...
OK, he will favor electric cars instead of favoring electric chairs
He will follow Jesus, but doesn't believe in Him instead of believe in Jesus an not follow Him
He might want to repeal the Patriot Act but not the Emancipation Proclamation
He thinks absence makes the heart grow fonder not abstinence saves the tart from plunder
He might believe God loves us and gave everyone free will to be different but get confused if you tell him God willed us to freely hate everyone different

Why does this matter?
Why would you care what religious beliefs anyone, besides yourself, hold in their mind? I think trying to label people by their beliefs is the root cause for judgement.
Just love your boss for who he/she is as a person! Thats all you need to do.

Warning signs...Atheists are not necessarily bad people. But if you are scared put the armor of God around you and no evil can penetrate : )

Walk into his office singing Amazing Grace and see how he reacts. Walk past him and act like you are talking on your cell phone and say something like I'll pray for you and I'll get all the people that I know to pray for you too then ask him to pray for your friend and see how he reacts.
