this is my favourite hot dog sauce, its easy to make and very tasty

2 teaspoons salt
1 onion, chopped very fine
4 cups ketchup
1 (2-oz.) bottle Mexene chili powder, or to taste
1 cup water


Directions:

Place all ingredients in large saucepan. Mix well. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 1 hour. Make sure to stir often to keep sauce from burning or scorching.

Well, depending on where in the country you live, hot dog sauce can mean many different things. Being from WV, I like mine pretty thick and with no beans, so if you're looking for something like that, I have a super-easy recipe for you:

1 can Manwich
1 lb ground beef

Just like making sloppy joes, but man is it good on hot dogs. Add a little cole slaw, and you're good to go!

Yes, it sounds gross. My husband nearly ordered pizza the first time I fixed these "slaw dogs", but if it's anywhere near grilling temperature, they're his first request for dinner!
