IT'S NOT.

You are basically asking for somebody to post the sum of 100 years of scientific inquiry. But I'll give you the short version

Genetics more or less confirms how traits are inherited and how mutations occur. Natural selection flushhes deleterious mutations and keeps those which are beneficial. When a population is large enough, this will eventually lead to a localized sub-population finding a new way to 'make a living' in the wild. Over time one species becomes two as the localized sub-population specializes on this new way to 'make a living.

This process has been repeating itself for the last three billion years or so and the result is the current amount of biological diversity.

First, evolution happens. We have seen it. We even make it happen (e.g. agricultural engineering). It seems quite plausible to extrapolate that activity over the billions of years the earth has been around and expect to find some significant changes.

Darwin did not denounce his theory and it is important for you all to understand that a scientific theory must be based on significant evidence in order to be called a theory.

Read the book "On the Origin of the Species", and you'll likely know a bit more than one can tell you in a paragraph or two here.

It's not only plausible, but quite nicely explains many of the phenomenon we see today, wherein we have geologically separated species showing evidence of divergence. We see animals specifically conforming to their environment.

One can look at nature and say "God did this", or one can look at nature and question "How did this come to be?"

Science chooses the latter method. Without question, growth is impossible. Adherence to a book, the belief that one mustn't question, leads to stagnation.

What is not plausible?

The idea that some cosmic magician made a man out of clay and then pulled a woman out of his chest is ridiculous. The idea that a wolf can evolve into something that Paris Hilton carries in her purse makes sense to most people. Extend that by hundreds of millions of generations and substitute natural selection for Paris Hilton and you've got the rudiments of evolution.

It's a theory, not a truth that has no possibility of being wrong. And if you look at operational science there are some concepts that seem plausible, as far as humanity can tell. But origin science is a different story. That's largely guessing. No one knows where we came from unless they are willing to take a creation account.

Well, if God did create the world in *seven days*, and *a day is as a thousand* as it says in the Bible, how do we know how long one of those days was???? So each *day* could have been 1000, or a year or 1000 years. As I said before, everything is relative. And so there was time for man to evolve from that first time God breathed into the dust.

how could it not be considered plausible, we know that organisms have genes in the form of DNA, we know that an organisms traits are encoded in it's genes, we know that those genes are passed on to their offspring, we know that the genes can be altered through mutation, we know that any genes that convey a survival advantage will become predominant within a population, we know that the types of organisms present on earth has changed countless times throughout history, all of these point to the plausibility of evolution

This website explains evolution, and gives a defense to EVERY SINGLE claim that creationists make.

-Furthermore, the only other current viable option is creationism, and if you consider the belief that God created man from dirt and woman from a rib and then populated the world through forced incest.....THEN HOW ON EARTH IS THAT BELIEF MORE PLAUSIBLE?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1) Please explain how it's not plausible.

2) Living organisms share common organs and functions, suggesting a common descent.

Just one of many arguments for evolution.

Because it is a theory. We know that we do not know everything. Christians tell us all the time that they DO know everything and they don't even need a theory.
