Thats what the fox terrier and MinPin are. They are very 'aggressive' dogs. By that I mean they are high-strung and hyper, showing aggression to things they've grown bored of. The best thing to do to them is NOT time out. You have to show them you're the boss. This DOES mean taking them by the scruff of the neck and pushing them to the floor suddenly, but not hurting them. They will yelp, thats just them telling you to knock it off, like your kid would do if you told him/her to go to their room. Holding them on their back for ten seconds at a time(without letting them get up on their will) is another way to show your dominance.
I would suggest not dismissing the problem. Dont just send the dog away when its been bad, let it know you're not happy by actively disciplining it. If you have cable/satellite, watch The Dog Whisperer, on Geography or Discovery channel(cant quite remember). Ceaser has very good points and can help you control a problem dog without getting rid of it.
Please dont let it bite at a young age. It will lead to heartbreak when it bites someone and is put down. That happened to me and my dog, and I dont want it to happen to others.
Please dont listen to compunonny above. You have to train it. Dont just train your kids. They came first and you dont want them to feel like the dog gets all your attention since she came. Not to mention not training her will cause MANY problems down the road.

This is how puppys play! They use there teeth! But the growling is not a good sign. I was told when a pup bites to yelp loudly and wait for the dog to open its mouth and realse your hand. It then has realised it has hurt you! Where if you pull your hand away it thinks its a game. It doesnt want to stop playing so it should stop biting. Also make sure your kids do the same and are dominant over the dog. Theres no point if you keep telling off the dog all the time, it needs to know that when the kids say no it must obey! Hope this helps my pups coming up to 8months and i know its hard.

You need to enroll your puppy in puppy classes and then move on to basic obedience. Terriers are highly intelligent dogs and are easily stimulated by loud noises. They also get bored very easily so rotating toys is a good idea.
Also, I wouldn't recommend using her crate as a time out area. You never want to use the crate as punishment because it can hinder using the crate for housebreaking and you don't want your dog to fear the crate.
Have you tried bitter apple?? Is everyone in the household using consistant commands? Is this puppy getting enough exercise?

I have a Jack Russel and they are high strung. Let her come to the kids, rub her tummy, and get a newspaper. When she starts to growl...smack something with the paper. and when she is good tell her and rub her tummy. It sounds silly, but it worked for us. They are hyper dogs. Teach the kids to let her be...it is easier than training the dog. She will eventually go to them if they leave her be and show her gentleness and she feels secure with them. They frighten her right now. Treats and a few toys help.

Obedience classes ASAP. They are expensive, but they will work. If you can't afford them, I'd suggest getting rid of the puppy
before one of your children or you get seriously injured by the dog.

Do you think her mother would put up with that from her? No! Put her on her back and hold her by the neck until she submits. Just like her mother would do. Establish yourself as the pack leader, and that will be the end of that crap.

I'd get rid of it. No one likes a mean dog. If you have friends with children, they may avoid visiting you beacuse of your mean dog. There are lots of friendly dogs out there, I'd get one of those.
